Ha, my bad. I screenshotted it for you but then never sent it. THF is doing a lot of cool stuff.
Also, I wrote it in response to your haiku in the rolling Earth haiku thingamajiggy.
The reason you can feel my shasei coming out of my kanashisa is I was walking to the gas station to get a coffee and all of a sudden that unmistakable smell of first lilacs, which in my mind weren't supposed to be blooming yet, and they were my mother's favorite, and it was an ambivalent moment.
Thanks, Chris. Took a little bit of a different path on this one.
โWhispers of Natureโ First International Haiku Contest 2026 Haiku Association of Sri Lanka Honourable Mention beach day babyโ s first prints return to sea Trรฉ โ USA Ravi Kiran's commentary: The crux of this haiku is the second line. Different babies take differently to their first visit to a beach. Some get very excited and others get petrified. Once the feeling settles, babies instinctively explore and are amazed at how they can leave footprints in the wet sands. The last line captures the cyclic nature of life.
Happy International #Haiku #Poetry Day!
Thank you, Haiku Association of Sri Lanka, Palitha Senarathna, Radhika De Silva, and Lanka Siriwardana. You all did a splendid job. Congratulations on your first contest!
My gratitude also goes out to the honorable judge, Ravi Kiran, for including my haiku.
Thank you!
Not on purpose, though.
Thank you. Leave it to me to post a senryu unwittingly on haiku day.
Awesome haiku!
