Rose's eyes moved down from the old synth to the desk between them. Pressure in her chest that might've rivaled the natural steam in his. The words had been hard to vocalize, just as they were that night in the Memory Den. Her shoulders moved back, tense in the expectancy to be gentle laughed at. Humored, perhaps, with a gentle reminder of the circumstances of the world they lived in. For now, Nick stayed silent. Warm eyes not leaving her face, an expression undoubtedly set in. "It wasn't just the supplies, Nicky, I…" Rose felt the words stop in her throat again. Tears welled, but never fell, her hand rubbing along bruised veins where Radaway never seemed to stop flowing.

In those times, she had not yet woven the brown human skin that would become famous and, most importantly, feared across the infinite layers of the Netherrealm. But she had already earned the first few of the many titles that told of her feats, of her victories, and of her might.

Had a good editing (and drawing) session today, so I wanted to start on the next short story of Chronicles of the Realms, one I've been quite excited to work on: General Ashrah (working title), showing one of the times when she led a devil's army against their enemies 👀🔥
