3/3 If one still wants to produce reliable software which needs significant review if vibe coded, the net gain isn't actually that big (and that is not including ethical AI concerns, cognitive loss, and the price jacking that is coming in the next years).
2/3 As a software engineer it just makes me code faster, but review takes significantly longer and errors are harder to catch.
1/3 My general take is, that vibe coding is mostly powerful and enabling for people who are not proficient with coding - which is especially dangerous because they can't judge when code is wrong unless it has immediately visible effects.
At least one person (the developer) has verified the code of a non-"vibe coded" package. How many "authors" of vibe coded tools will have read and understood the entirety of the produced codebase? Also review of code can be a lot harder then writing code.
It is my great honor to announce that registration for the 7th ESCP Single Cell Proteomics Conference is now open: lnkd.in/e4iyiQjf

Also, I know that in DIA-NN there is a "threads" parameter that can be set, for the i9 that should be at least at 24 (and the OS hopefully schedules that to be each on separate cores). Maybe that helps :)
Haha pretty sure they'd be happy to hear about it though. As a dev I can confirm that it's hard to keep track of all the changes in the hardware world ;)
Might be because the software maybe isn't adapted to properly use all the cores in the new Intel CPUs yet? E.g. no more hyper threading on Intel CPUs and if it only uses performance cores there will be a huge performance loss compared to Ryzen CPUs. Probably worth asking the devs.
