The Qiantang river's tidal bore is the world's largest and most powerful of its kind. Sometimes two tides meet together forming a shape like a cross, that can become even more captivating at sunset.

The picture at sunset shows a mountain scene. Uneven gray rock is closest to the viewer with wild blueberry bushes and write in and mixed with small trees’ One windswept tree curves and leans to the left with sparse branches on the far left side of the picture. To the right upper portion of the picture is a medium blue cloud against the blue sky. It has the angle shape of a building thunderstorm. To the left of the tall cloud is the yellow of the setting sun with streaks of yellow angling upward into the left as higher clouds are highlighted yellow. More distant mountains form the horizon line, a medium blue which blends with the other colors of the sunset.

Two peaks of grandfather Mountain are in shadow slightly left of center, with a bluish tint due to the shadowing. The Hillside close to the viewer is covered with bare blueberry bushes and parse rhododendron. Spindly fir trees rise along a ridge to the front of the viewer. The rocks of the mountain are relatively flat like a narrow pathway that falls off steeply near the viewer. And further in front of the viewer, a very steep drop off crumbles down the mountain side. Colors in the photo are mainly shades of tan and brown with some dark green. The sky is a very light blue with thickening clouds in late afternoon.

Into a world of bright sunshine.”

I do believe.
I wish you a day of soaring into bright sunshine☀️

Small purple and yellow iris are scattered through the base of wild blueberry bushes. Dry brown grasses are twisted on the ground at the base of the picture.
View of Grandfather mountain to the right and Sugar Mountain to the far left. Near bushes slope from mid upper right to lower left. A mountain with two peaks is in the distance right and rolling mountain peaks continue left. Light browns cover the mountains with shade from clouds creating pockets of darker color. A blue sky has a row of clouds midway across the sky. Dark green of rhododendron leaves are mixed through the scene. An evergreen pressed upward far right.
A short footbridge crosses water in the country with tree branches hanging on the right and dry grasses covering the ground. There are hills in the background.

Poetry isn’t a ship, it is the lifeboat.
Poetry isn’t swimming. Poetry is water.”

The moon shines bright. In such a night as this,
When the sweet wind did gently kiss the trees
And they did make no noise

View from a forested bluff looking down a secluded cove along the Oregon coast. Young conifers frame the foreground, with a dark sand beach curving below, small waves washing in from a calm gray-green sea. A sea stack rises from the water mid-scene, topped with wind-sculpted trees. Steep, forested cliffs line the left shore, and heavy overcast skies.
It feels good to be back on the coast. Going back to work tomorrow, not so much.

Today's #BlueskyArtShow theme is #new. As in a brand new day. Out there for sunrise. At the end of the cape with this view all to myself. Even with a world on fire, how can one not be inspired by a rising sun over the Gulf of Mexico. #photography #landscape #EastCoastKin #clouds #sunrise
On the slopes surrounding Red Eagle Lake, in Glacier National Park, old burnt forest has cleared space for young trees. The lake waters are visible nearby, with plenty of low bushes and grass growing on its banks. Tall mountains are seen in the background, farther away. The sun is setting outside of the photo, and summits and clouds appear on orange and purple colors.

Sunrise at ocean shore.
Today will be my peaceful day.
May I continually cultivate the ground of peace for myself and others and persist, mindful and dedicated to this work.
May I know that my peace and the world’s peace are not separate; that our peace in the world is a result of our work for justice.

Joyful moments of my day, waiting for the sun to set on Lough Neagh and behind me is this beautiful swan. 🦢
Pa view looking towards the top is the trees in a bluebell woodland. The sun is shining and the trees illuminated by the sun.
Below this canopy of trees you will find a landscape of bluebells. They have just started to open.

A moody alpine lake sits nestled in a rocky cirque beneath a brooding overcast sky. The still teal-green water mirrors the dark conifers framing the foreground. Across the lake, a small snow patch rests against a talus slope at the base of a sheer cliff face. Sparse subalpine firs cling to the ridgeline above.
There are specific shades of blue-green that only exist in glacial lakes, and I will keep hiking until I find every single one of them.

cotton fabric that looks like a galaxy with a tiny cross stitched TARDIS
Throwback to the time I was obsessed with cross stitching on cotton and making bow ties from it. This was before it became a bow tie and I just kinda love this pic. So few stitches, but so cool.

A day with blue sky and growing white clouds. Mountains angle together with a zigzag valley leading to I an extended long range view. Distant mountains are light blue with near mountains having brown, deep evergreen mixed through with shades of yellow in the lower left corner.

Three purple crocus with bright orange stamens poke up from amongst leaves and fallen tree branches. A bee has landed on one of the flowers.
Near left is a tall flat rock with worn layers. Several evergreens jut upwards on the rock’s slope. The sky is a bright midday blue. There are rolling blue mountains across the horizon line with the nearer mountains, slightly blue green.
Brilliant medium blue sky dominates the top half of the picture. The lower half shows the photographer is standing on elevated rock, with evergreen trees the dominant tree lower in front of the viewer an to the right side of the picture. Straggly branches also press into the picture left. Beyond the trees blue mountains roll in the distance. On the right horizon are the recognizable peaks of Hawksbill and Table Rock.
