They have excellent hearing and vision, allowing them to detect prey while flying low or over the ground. Conservation efforts in Europe often involve protecting nests in farmland to prevent destruction during the harvest. In Extremadura, there's an organization called ANSER, they do a tough work, protecting the Montagu's harrier nests with fences, to avoid the harvesting machines.
