A white painted cottage in twilight

A white painted cottage in twilight

The delightful C18th Grade II listed cottage on Skokholm at twilight last night.

This was where Ronald Lockley set up the first bird observatory in the 1920s. It has since been immaculately restored by volunteers ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Here's one of our favourite #Dorset #Roman floors for #MosaicMonday

The lively depiction of a music battle between Apollo (with lyre) and Marsyas (pipes)

[Spoiler alert: things end badly for Marsyas]

A view of some of the standing stones which form part of one of the three Hurlers stone circles. Set on moorland, the photo is taken facing west as the sun is setting creating a golden coloured sky.

The Hurlers northern circle for #StandingStoneSunday taken last weekend while on an early evening walk at the end of a day spent up on the moors and alternately battered by hail, and bathed in sunshine. #BodminMoor

The forest floor is flooded with spring colour, a massive of bluebells with oak standards. I love the spring time on the edge of the Weald. Here just north of Steyning.
