Really surprised to get a Red-Legged Partridge on the camera trap in Croydon
I currently host a Probation Service Community Payback project and use this to deliver improvements to our site but also provide purpose and exposure to nature to a group of men who may be struggling with mental health.

Another great men’s group walk and talk, providing a safe, inclusive environment to meet new faces, get some gentle exercise and talk.
Next week’s walk is at 1300 (1pm) on Tuesday 10th March and meets by the piano in the ticket hall at Crystal Palace station.

This morning it’s all about texture.
there’s always opportunities for quiet reflection and observing things we might otherwise walk past.
moments of soft fascination is proven to reduce blood pressure, feelings of stress, and generate production of calming hormones that make us feel good.
@mrjamesob.bsky.social saw the fantastic @markthomasinfo.bsky.social this week and was introduced to his campaign to get a new noun introduced into the #OxfordEnglishDictionary that describes the rancid liquid found at the bottom of a bin: - Faridge (sic) 😂
A worthy campaign #Faridge

A great turnout for the men’s walk around #crystalpalacepark
Men are notoriously hard to engage on events like this, but isolation and loneliness, stress and physical and mental health can affect everyone, so walks like this can help and improve lives.

#shinrin-yoku / #forestbathing is an accessible, inexpensive and proven way to improve physical and mental health, so central to our approach at Activitrees.

An architectural icon that also provides roosting for Peregrine Falcons and Ravens.

Toad’s mobile and moving down to the lake to spawn.
Spring on its way 🤞
Very nice. Not seen them in blue before 💙
Lighter shades on fallen Birch yesterday 👍
Lovely slow dog walk today. No agenda, just going at his pace and taking time to listen to the birds and soft fascination on the smaller details we often miss as we rush past.
#shinrinyoku / #forestbathing encourages us to notice colour, texture and relationships.
Blue skys, birdsong, emerging bulbs and buds.
Spring definitely on its way 🤞

Orion from nocturnal winter woods.
Poor iPhone picture but highlighting that #shinrinyoku / #forestbathing doesn’t have to be a day time activity.
Tawny owls in the trees, unseen larger mammals rustling out of sight and reducing reliance on sight brings our other senses to the fore.
