Basilica Saint Mary Major is one of the four most important churches in Rome. The only one with original Paleochristian structure. The oldest Roman church dedicated to Virgin Mary (432-440 AD).

A narrow cobblestone street features shops and an art gallery. They are built with a honey-coloured stone and they have grey tile roofs. The art gallery has a black metal sign mounted on the wall reading Floriane Maels Galerie. At the bottom of the steps is a circular shaped stone building with an arched doorway and a rectangular window. There is a black metal lamp mounted to the side of the doorway.

Capri sits on a large rocky island in the Mediterranean Sea. In the foreground are grasses and shrubs that are growing on a mountain overlooking the town of Capri. To the right of the island are tall limestone rocks reaching a height of 100 metres. The fog obscures most of the distant background but the outline of mountains is visible on the left side of the image.

A narrow gorge, with towering rock on each side, opens onto the ancient city of Petra in Jordan. The first sight is The Treasury, with its many columns carved into the red rock. A camel is standing in front of the building and a visitor is taking a photo of the building facade.

A sheer sandstone cliff edge at Colorado National Monument drops away into a deep canyon, its warm ochre and rust-colored walls streaked with desert varnish and undercut into smooth curves near the base. A twisted juniper clings to the rim at the right edge of the frame, while scrubby pinyon-juniper woodland colonizes every available ledge and slope across the canyon. Layered sandstone benches step back toward the far canyon walls, which glow in the midday light, and beyond them rounded hills covered in dark green rise to meet a vivid blue sky stacked with billowing cumulus clouds.

There are spots at Colorado National Monument where the sandstone runs out and the canyon begins. This is one of those spots.

The cliffs are subject to erosion. The area has rare wildlife and archeological features to see.

Fairlight Cliffs in East Sussex, near the town of Hastings, are part of that Saxon Shore Way. It is a site of special scientific interest.
