As long as there’ve been salmon, there’ve been seal lions eating them, but it wasn’t until man dammed rivers, built cities beside them, and became indiscriminate resource-extractors that fisheries began collapsing. There’ve always been sea lions, and there’ve always been #salmon.

#Whale #Carcass on #SunsetBeach #NorthOregonCoast. I’ve no idea what killed this whale, though a necropsy should reveal the culprit. There was what appeared to be post-mortem scavenging by at least one shark. We see a number of whale carcasses here each year, some of which may have been ship-struck.

That’s a conspiracy without a theory. It’s only a matter of time before he’s taken out, or finds himself in a legitimate court of law to account for murder. No tears for fascist scum.

I built this consolidated service platform in an effort to maintain a clear passage around the engine. Sea strainer, Racor fuel filter, impeller, etc., all close at hand.

There’s no air filter on this engine. The air intake is under the bell-shaped part on the near side of the engine, and contains a flame-start. I assume you must be referring to the bagged, replacement Racor diesel filter element, stowed with a spare impeller directly above the Racor filter housing.

I methodically pursued faults, annealing new copper washers to replace originals, re-tightening connections along the way, & bleeding air where only diesel was welcome. I became familiar with the injection pump, identifying some unique parts along the way, & finally started it up & celebrated. 👍🏼

Despite all the diesel engines I’ve owned over the years, I’ve never had to bleed one, outside of a classroom environment. Soon after purchasing #svEyrie, I got to work, cleaning, re-wiring, re-plumbing, and re-painting the #Perkins4108. Last time it ran, it stalled and died, prompting attention.
