No, the trouble with autumn shooting in this area is the good days are still warm enough to carry a lot of water vapour, and the days can be very hazy. It'll clear up in a few weeks once it gets properly cold.

It's still my favourite mountain even if it does have the blues! :)

Almost... It's wayyyy back down the road, closer to the start of the lake. I used the 70-200 lens to compress the scene and get Aoraki a nice big size.

It's a single image. Some work around the blue/yellow tones because the haze that day was killing my details!

To get the angle, I parked my ute on a flat bit off the road, and then took the shots off the back with the tripod on the roof.
It took a good 30 minutes to capture it without traffic!
