I’ve been on this exact train too many times before, hahah. And the one where I put the wrong month

21: For Draguriel in Karnassia (co-created with @jmaxwell-author.bsky.social), he has significant social power as the Spymaster of Atmoriel's Bureau of Espionage, but he would definitely struggle if he needed to defend himself in any one-on-one fight. As such, he avoids those...

...encampments, most children are raised collectively within the community. This is due in part to the fact that the lack of institutions for marriage or monogamy mean that the parentage for any given Valestral child is uncertain, and so while the mother is clear, any children that are born are...

21: For the different folks of Karnassia (co-created with @jmaxwell-author.bsky.social), the Valestrals are probably the most interesting here, given their different family structure. Outside of the ruling lines for the Wild King or Queen and the Chief/Chiefesses of various...
Hey, thanks, I appreciate you saying that!
This is a great post without context btw
Other ideas (sci-fi novel All is For All, litfic Eternal March, and a thriller) are even more on the backburner, but I'm including those I /will/ get to sometime. Thanks for reading, and I'd love to talk more about these for any who have questions! (15/15) (Managed to count [and spell!] this time!)
I've started drafting bits on a technological vaguely supernatural possession-sh horror novel called Sour Kiwis, where a groupchat full of internet trolls has a new user appear and convince folks toward more destructive (and self-destructive) acts. (Thinking a very online Session 9). (14/?)
Another fantasy story outside of Karnassia is brewing, a trilogy with a growing number of worldbuilding elements (particularly bubs), plot beats, and character ideas forming. This is early in the process, but I'm excited about the magic system and worldbuilding developing for this one. (13/?)
Outside Karnassia: How The Forever War Ends, a flintlock fantasy exploring themes of inevitable climate collapse. Drafting: 67,511 words. This has been a long backburner project (that I've made almost no progress on since last update), and I've stopped making guesses about when I'll finish. (12/?)
An additional follow up to Sins of the Father has a vague overarching idea but we're nowhere near ready to provide more information about it (which hasn't stopped me from thinking about several character arcs, unfortunately). An idea for a prequel trilogy has also unfortunately appeared. (11/?)
Next, next in Karnassia: Sins of the Father: A follow up trilogy or duology focusing on the next generation and fall out of the events of the 4-book series. Currently in the brainstorming/outlining stage, especially given how The Rise of Villainy plays out will greatly influence this idea. (10/?)
Next in Karnassia: The Rise of Villainy, a grimdark caper series about the rise of a fantasy cartel of thieves/cutthroats/drug dealers unite for profit (or betray each other). Book 1: 141,289 words (revising). Book 2 (first draft 9/7/25): 117,862 words. Book 3 (4/19/26): 120,779 words. (9/?)
There are also plans for a few other groups of short stories, mainly the Misadventures of Zri'Denn and Rashad, Tales from the 63rd Company, the Hrothian Civil War, Waters of the Western Shore, and potentially more. That first collection has a few stories finished and a few scraps/drafts. (8/?)
The current plan is also that each of the stand alones will have a handful of short stories, all gathered into one collection with four different titled sections: Secondary Infections, Missed Meals, Collateral Damage, and Recurrence Intervals. There's a few drafts that have been started here. (7/?)
The fourth stand alone, The Rippling Cataclysm, a fantasy disaster novel, just finished its first draft at the time of this writing and wound up sitting at 100,031 words. I am going to probably start revising this for beta-reader readability in May, which I think will add quite a bit to it. (6/?)
Third stand alone, The Second War (about war, obviously): just finished its first beta-read by the same @dukeofnothingham.bsky.social [still can’t think you enough, buddy]. Draft sent over to him was 117,496 words (and I’m in the process of reviewing his notes). (5/?)
The second stand alone, The Great Famine (about, you guessed it, a famine) has one beta read done (thanks again to @dukeofnothingham.bsky.social m.bsky.social for that!). I'm slowly working to incorporate beta feedback in a set of revisions (current draft: 100,015 words, likely to grow). (4/?)
First of the stand alones, The Grey Plague, a grimdark fantasy exploring how people (well, elves) live though a pandemic. Currently revising: one beta reader (@dukeofnothingham.bsky.social) has looked at this one, @jmaxwell-author.bsky.social ial is revising (current draft is 103,342 words). (3/?)
Tons of stories in one zero-magic secondary world on the continent of Karnassia, created with my coauthor @jmaxwell-author.bsky.social (and featured in many prompt games). Current planned projects for this setting: 4 stand alone novels, a 4-book series, and a potential trilogy or duology. (2/?)
It’s April, and I finished a draft of Rise of Villainy book 3 yesterday, so, here is an update all of my #WIPs to reflect where things stand for things I #amwriting and #amrevising! (This is a slight improvement in my updating timeline) #WritingCommunity 🧵(1/?)

20: For the Bureau of Espionage in Atmoriel in Karnassia stories (co-authored with @jmaxwell-author.bsky.social), essentially no one is personally loyal to Draguriel, the Spymaster. Rather, they are either loyal to the cause the Bureau stands for or they fear retribution for...

20: In Karnassia (co-created with @jmaxwell-author.bsky.social), Atmor is the name for the Sun, and thus the Atmorals prominently feature the Sun on their nation's flag, along with the image of a tower (Atmoriel roughly translating to Tower/City of the Sun). Meanwhile, Avendral..
hey guys i think the company that named itself after an evil wizard's orb might be the bad guys
I just finished a draft of book 3 just a moment ago, and this draft as of right now is 120,799 words. I'll do a full update to this thread tomorrow, most likely, but just wanted to share this in something that was more like real time
