Sessions will be covered from multiple perspectives (development, regeneration, disease), using a variety of model systems (in vitro, in vivo, from invertebrates to human) while exposing the latest developments in genetics, metabolism, -omics, imaging, disease modelling and therapeutic strategies.
π¬ This @embo.org Workshop will bring together leading and emerging scientists to explore the latest developments and future directions in skeletal muscle biology.

Final version @nature.com of our paper describing unconventional multicellular development in a choanoflagellate inhabiting an extreme environment. A ton of new data since the first @biorxivpreprint.bsky.social preprint (which we've kept updating).
A brief 𧡠(carried over from the old place)
My first-author PhD paper is out in @natcomms.nature.com π We developed unique in vivo/ex vivo live-imaging pipelines to uncover new muscle stem cell behaviors in #DuchenneMuscularDystrophy.
Big thanks to all co-authors & the @tajbakhshlab.bsky.social lab!

New insight into postpartum breast cancer: senescent cells play a paradoxical role during mammary gland involution.
While essential for normal tissue remodeling after pregnancy, these cells can be hijacked by tumors to promote metastasis.

Now published in its final version! Congrats again to all the authors for the amazing work π

Ventricle position can be remodeled after heart looping!
In a model of heterotaxy we uncovered a new asymmetric morphogenesis process during which the heart reorients its chambers.
So grateful to all the authors for their expertise and input during this long (but fun) ride πͺ

'The problem is that AAV-based therapies inevitably come with their own risks, and (in my opinion) these should be balanced by impressive efficacy data to make a convincing profile. Obviously this wasnβt present here, which sort of leaves everyone out there to soak up the risk part'
