CiliaQ Editor just received a convenient upgrade allowing to faster inspect and correct segmentations of #cilia in the #CiliaQ workflow (automatic color & BC adjustment, new functions, etc.). If you update FIJI, you automatically update to the new version. All details at github.com/hansenjn/Cil....

So proud and happy to share that our study on the #proteome, heterogeneity, and cell-type specificity of primary #cilia is published now at Cell πŸŽ‰

Big thank you to all the many people that made this possible, at the Lundberg Lab, Human Protein Atlas, Lindstrand lab, and Hsien-Sheu lab.

In the journal Cell a deep analysis of the HPA primary cilia section is published. The primary cilia is portrayed as the most heterogeneous organelles, customized by the cell for fine-tuned environmental sensing, inspiring new views on this tiny antenna.

The human proteome - The Human Protein Atlas

Or, if the protein exists in humans, you could check whether the human protein atlas contains antibody stainings for the protein on human tissues with motile cilia (www.proteinatlas.org/humanproteom...) and whether you can observe a similar phenomenon there as well.

Intrinsic Diversity In Primary Cilia Revealed Through Spatial Proteomics Primary cilia are a critical organelle found on most human cells, and their dysfunction is linked to hereditary ciliopathies with diverse symptoms. Despite their significance, the specific roles of ci...

Exciting! I'd be curious whether a corresponding human protein exists. If yes, you may check whether it was by chance stained in ciliated human cells in the human protein atlas and whether you see diversity between different cells: www.proteinatlas.org. Preprint: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1....

iAPEX: Improved APEX-based proximity labeling for subcellular proteomics using an enzymatic reaction cascade Ascorbate peroxidase (APEX) is a versatile labeling enzyme used for live-cell proteomics at high spatial and temporal resolution. However, toxicity of its substrate hydrogen peroxide and background la...

Proud to share our work spear-headed by PhD student Tommy Sroka with major contributions by #xenopus expert Kerstin Feistel.

Our iAPEX #ProximityLabeling method for #MassSpec based subcellular #proteomics works by locally generating H2O2 using a D-amino acid oxidase that activates APEX2 in situ.
