Really good morning at Slimbridge. Found a vocal Yellow-browed Warbler next to the Kingfisher hide. Year ticked Temminck’s Stint. 2 Bittern also showed well #GlosBirds #UKBirds

Trip finished on 121 species. Pallas’s Warbler added to the year list & Black-faced Bunting added to my life list today at spurn. American Golden Plover year ticked at Eyebrook on the way home #UKBirds

After a quite seawatch we decided to dash up to the potato field for the Pallas’s Warbler which we had great views of. Walking back we were some of the first on scene for the Black-faced Bunting getting id’d. Spurn magic. #UKBirds

Day 3 spent at Spurn & The Outstrays. Got my 1st lifer of the year with a Long-tailed Skua heading north past spurn. 2 Scaup, 4 Glossy Ibis, my 5th Yellow-browed Warbler of the weekend & a big arrival of Goldcrest today. Finished with a few pints at The Granby. Trip total on 114 so far #UKBirding

Spent our second day birding Spurn. Pectoral Sandpiper & Jack Snipe new for the year. Barnacle Goose, Woodcock, 3 Yellow-browed Warbler, Wheatear seen. Goldcrest & winter thrushes everywhere. Sad to see some birds not making it across the coast & crashing into the sea. 102 for the trip #UKBirding

Really good first day in Yorkshire spent at Flamborough. Little Gull & Yellow-browed Warbler added to the year list. Good numbers of winter thrushes & Brambling around. 7 Pomarine Skua were the birds of the day though. 73 species for the trip list #UKBirding

More Glossy Ibis seen at Cley today but the best bird was an Arctic Skua sat on the beach. Bean’s Boat trip out to Blakeney got us all the seals plus another really close Arctic Skua. #UkBirding

Pink-feet coming in off the sea. Thousands of Hirundine along the beach including a very brown Swift in off. 5 Arctic Skua harassing the terns. Holkham Gap 06:30 - 08:00. Love it here. #UKBirding

I was hoping to see some Glossy Ibis this autumn with the influx but finding my own was even better. 2 Glossy Ibis west past Snettisham at 16:05. Also 7 Spoonbill & 4 Turtle Dove. #UKBirding

Migration was in full swing this morning at Fyfield Down. 4 Swift, 300+ Swallow, 100+ House Martin, 7 Redstart, 3 Whinchat, 3 Wheatear, 29 Yellow Wagtail & an amazing 57 Small Copper butterfly. #UKBirding

Lovely walk around Keyhaven Marshes today. Whimbrel added to the year list & my first Clouded Yellow butterfly of the year. Spoonbill, all the usual waders including a ridiculously close Ruff & Yellow-legged Gull also seen. Pub lunch to finish #UKBirding

Good start to my last day of holiday. My 3rd Little Ringed Plover of the year for the patch was logged onto BirdTrack with 43 other species also recorded. 57 of 31 in the moth trap when I got home. Poplar Grey was NFG. Poplar Hawk-moth, Shuttle-shaped Dart & Spectacle NFY #UKBirding #TeamMoth

Balearic Shearwater NFY at Portland Bill this morning. Pied Flycatcher NFY in the obs garden where Martin let us rummage through the moth trap. Wood Sand then added to the year list at Lodmoor where I found my first Norfolk Hawker. Finished at Martin Down where we saw Chalkhill Blue butterflies

24 Little Egret on the patch this morning was my highest count I’ve had there. 40 species recorded onto BirdTrack. 3 Peregrine flew east over my garden & a Sparrowhawk dropped in for lunch. #UKBirding
