Here's an example of playing with different equipment:
The first one has balanced movement, decent shooting speed and a burst attack.
The second one is faster but slippery, it's got a lower shoot speed but a powerful explosive attack.

None of these characters have a name or a defined personality, shopkeepers won't be that important so personality doesn't really matter that much, I'm open for suggestion if someone has a good name idea though
I thought maybe the items shop needed someone a bit more generic, so I tried to design something for it.
There's gonna be 3 different shops in the game so I'm still gonna use the other character but I'll move her to another store

Old vs New
Every enemy needs to fly in some way, I didn't like how the old one just floats because of ✨magic✨, I feel I can make better excuses than that, so I'm pretty happy with the new design, it makes more sense I think, also it's kind of funny

Ok so implementing the ranking system was fairly easy, basically every level will have its own goals, that you need to complete to get a higher rank

Also I added a combo counter, bc I want the game to have like, a rank system that grades you at the end of the level, and that will come in handy

Making variations of current enemies… could work, if I gave them unique attacks! For now I'm not really worried about "what" the enemies are, but more about "what they do", what situation they put the player and such, that's the fun part of this I think
It's also getting increasingly worrying that I have too many background for the levels and not nearly enough enemies to fill that many levels, I need to concentrate on making lots of different enemies from now on!

Idk how many levels this game is going to have but 8 backgrounds for the levels sound about right, maybe ill aim for like 12 or max 15
