I'm chatting with Pascal, a #blackbird who for the couple of years has adopted us. I bung him a few mealworms, he makes me happy. After a short time away whilst he was moulting, he is back and hungry. How do I know it's him? Well, he only has one leg for a start!

Thanks, Stewart - always happy to learn! Initial research suggested adults will take some nectar but have vestigial mouth parts as you point out as they are really just egg making machines for a few weeks. There was suggestion that they use nectar to sustain them, but fascinated to learn more!
