Today I spoke in Parliament to congratulate Dorset Wildlife Trust and local people on their incredible efforts to secure Upton Heath.
I asked the Prime Minister to demonstrate his commitment to nature and to legislate to extinguish historic planning consents.

Doesn’t mean it’s not ai!
Wow almost looks 3D
Great shot
Of course!
Just here along the path
Of course!
This one certainly looks like a red spotted, hard to know whether the previous bird was just in moult or a white spot.
@harbourbirds.bsky.social wondering if this is a different individual to the one seen earlier this year?
I believe so
Bluethroat is still at Swineham! Gave us a shock when it landed on the path in front of us #ukbirding @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social @harbourbirds.bsky.social @rarebirder.bsky.social

3 eagles circling low at kimmeridge yesterday, unfortunately not the best light for photos but still the first time I’ve been able to photograph them with my camera! From what i could see they all looked like juveniles #dorsetbirds #ukbirding
Male wheatear.
Singing stonechat.
Very windy at dawlish warren today, the highlights were at least 5 wheatear and 2 beautifully plumaged little grebes on the pond. Also 10+ sandwich terns, single red throated diver, reed buntings, curlews, stonechats. Feels like spring despite the wind!

BBC headline utterly failing. ‘The saga of a £165m rail line that keeps causing travel chaos’
It’s not the rail line that “keeps causing travel chaos” its the shifting climate with more prolonged and intense rainfall and more frequent storms leading to landslips and the sea wall being washed out.
Just seen at least 3 white tailed eagles over the river in Blandford #dorsetbirds #ukbirding
FOURTH White-tailed Eagle disappears - RSPB offers reward for information leading to a conviction for this one or any of the other three.

Great to see some velvet scoters at Dawlish warren today, a tick for me. Also a spoonbill flyover and at least 7 common scoter #devonbirds
Beautiful photo
They breed in alpine habitats and their summer plumage is also very snowy white! 😊
Thank you 😊
Thank you!
Was lovely to see the Hamworthy snow bunting so close earlier! #dorsetbirds #birds @harbourbirds.bsky.social
