It's finally time! Always my first bloom; Bloodroot (Sanguinaria canadensis) in the forest. I can breed them indoors, the minute I put them out unguarded....eaten. I shall continue to enjoy them in their natural environment until I figure out the secret plant keeping them safe in the wild.

Some scattered trees/groves are visible. The lake is frozen and snow covered. Far in the distance you can see a sliver of the North Atlantic Ocean.

Cost of living hitting food banks in Canada so hard that visits are limited to once a month Food banks across the country are being forced to scale back services at a time when Canadians need them the most, due to limited supplies.

The fact that food banks even exist is proof that successive governments have failed in their duties. Food banks are a privately funded bandaid used to cover inadequate government programs.

That the bandaid itself is now failing means the government is failing Canadians more than ever before.

A vertical photo along Lake Superior's icy shores. In the foreground, ice covered rocks for a u-shaped channel, revealing small boulders surrounded by small red rocks. Ice covered rocks extend towards a small island. The island is completely covered in ice, with several spindly pine trees growing from the center. Near the center of the island, two root beer colored ice formations are formed by water seeping out of the island. Above the island, the sky is filled with gray clouds, showing slight signs of gold sunlight.

Many weather stations across the southern two thirds of the U.S. are already logging a record number of 80°F (and even 85°F+) days this year. This really highlights to me the extreme nature of the warmth in March, with many areas already seeing summer-like heat.

Several characters from Fraggle Rock gathered around a garden-like setting with soil, ferns, and red radish-like vegetables. In the foreground, three small Fraggles with bright hair and colorful clothing stand among the plants; one with orange hair holds a large red radish. Behind them are three large Gorg characters: a shaggy beige Gorg leaning forward on the left, a tall purple Gorg wearing a metal crown in the center, and another Gorg in layered clothing standing to the right. The scene is brightly lit with a rocky structure and vines in the background, creating a whimsical, fantasy environment.

On this day in 1987, Fraggle Rock aired its final episode after five seasons. Filmed in Toronto, using primarily Canadian puppeteers and cast, it remains a beloved show for many.
