Exciting! So glad to see people reiterating this important message. Namely, that wetlands of all kinds are the f*cking best

Maybe I’m biased but the water-associated warblers are all such heartthrobs

My cool natural history observation of the summer: a mud dauber wasp built a nest by my doorway, and not a day later a cuckoo wasp showed up and starting chewing her way in to leave her own eggs! 🐝

Nature Dawgs (dare I say “Bird Dawgs”??) at #AOS25! I enjoyed learning about painted buntings & intense lit reviews from fellow @universityofga.bsky.social scientists from the Warnell School of Forestry & Conservation.

POV: it’s your first bird conference in like 8 years and you got a little excited

(and/or you’ve got too many friends who know how to buy sweet gifts!)

Very excited to attend my first bird conference as an assistant professor next week at #AOS25! It's been 7 years since my last ornithology meeting and I couldn't be more excited to make new friends and chat avian ecology & conservation (1/X). Let's connect!

Aw thank you!! I'll try and post an earnest introduction soon

A great reed warbler (Acrocephalus arundinaceus), a gorgeous marsh specialist in Europe. I can assure you they weren't happy!

This was back when I lived in Spain (and hadn't lost a lot of hair to cancer treatments!) and was volunteering with the Spanish Ornithological Society's banding research.

As a naturalist, I treasure meeting the non-human denizens of any new place I travel. This past week, I got to set foot in an island tropical rainforest for the first time in years thanks to #SFS2025 in Puerto Rico. What stunning forests!
