This Earth Day we're asking for support to deliver real solutions to the climate crisis via #EarthRaise. All funds raised will create climate-resilient orchards in communities that need them the most.
Every donation is doubled 22-29 April: bit.ly/48OfZKJ

Radiocarbon dating suggests late 8th-9th century (Viking era), when the area was a Saxon/Viking frontier. The hillfort itself has two massive banks and ditches enclose a circular area of 6.5 hectares. 📷 Bladup More: http://www.megalithi
The Wood Anemones are an indicator of ancient woodlands. So delicately beautiful, I was mesmerised by them in the late evening light at Syngefield, along the Camcor River 💕 @irishwoodlandtrust.bsky.social @wildflowerhour.bsky.social @tocharstories.bsky.social @communitywetlands.bsky.social

To celebrate #EarthDay2026 we are highlighting Irish people who contributed to our understanding of the natural world, starting with Ellen Hutchins. She was Ireland’s first female botanist & an expert on mosses, bryophytes and lichens, several of which are named for her. www.dib.ie/biography/hu...

I’ve used mind maps before - of particular use for mapping out indiv families in a townland, especially when they’ve all the same surname! I must admit I hadn’t thought to use them in the way shown in the book. I shall experiment.
I was lucky enough that my copy arrived promptly & it was definitely a worthwhile purchase with lots of interesting suggestions. I’m very bad about research logs but this encourages me to do better. Recording sources is so important & also detailing the reasoning behind conclusions made.
