On the studio wall for a couple of months now. Some ideas last night and set to work today. Inspired by the 6,000 year old Farranmacbride Court Tomb in Gleann Cholm Cille.

A neolithic dolmen in Cunard on the edge of Dublin. These dolmens served as portal tombs and are part of a wider network of tombs and burial cairns that dot the landscape around Dublin and the rest of the country. Just standing at this location there are two cairns visible on the top of nearby mountains and at least five that you can hike to in a single day.

This is an ancient Irish dolmen in a windswept marshy field in the hills above Dublin. There are country roads nearby and some hiking trails but the only inhabitants you'll meet are the local sheep.

Recreating the Boyne Valley, one stroke at a time 🏺
This Grooved Ware bowl is inspired by Neolithic sherds found in the Boyne Valley, where fragments suggest ritual deposition as votive offerings.
No complete pots survive. Only clues.
