A huge road sign sits to one side of the intersection of Great Northern Highway and Gib River - Wyndham Rd, at Lake Argyle, Western Australia. Solar panels at the top of the sign power LED messaging showing the latest road conditions for 7 outback roads along this route. The sign currently indicates all the roads are open, to all vehicles types. Given the many creek crossings involved and the roughness of the roads, this is an important tool for travellers who don’t wish to get stranded. The second sign warns that this is a road train route. They can be up to 53.5 metres (175.5 feet) in length, so a warning is given to take care when overtaking. A third sign advises that the next opportunity to buy fuel is 341 kilometres (212 miles) away.

The camera looks downward into an old, empty, storage tin. The lid is open. Inside the lid a sticker tells the consumer to “Keep the Lid Shut”, talks about the quality of the original tea and includes a tea making recipe. The sticker is signed off by the company: “Atcherley & Dawson, Tea Merchants, Sydney”. Behind the tin sit several old wooden crates, one bearing the incomplete word “Victoria” and then “Powder and “Made in Australia”. Very old newspapers line the bottom of two of the crates.

A macro image of a cluster of snowdrop buds after a rainfall. The photo has been edited in black and white. The Affinity's tone adjustments were used to shift the green tones to a display as much darker. The slender leaves of the snowdrop plant look almost cactus like while the buds themselves could be mistake for a string of Christmas bulbs.
Tried out a B&W edit of one of my snowdrop shots I took this afternoon. I think there may just be too much going on in it to be truly effective, but I do particularly like the leaves!
