Resident tissue #macrophages (RTM) are now recognized as integral regulators of tissue physiology, not transient immune sentinels. one fundamental question remains unresolved: why do some populations achieve lifelong self-maintenance, while others are replaced under steady-state conditions? 🧵1/11

Since 1994, immigrants have paid more in taxes than they receive in benefits every year.

Do not believe the lies you hear about immigrants.

They are good for society and the economy.

Vitamin B2 metabolism promotes FSP1 stability to prevent ferroptosis - Nature Structural & Molecular Biology Here, Deol et al. use genetic screens in gene-edited reporter cell lines to identify regulators of ferroptosis suppressor protein 1 (FSP1) expression and stability. They show that vitamin B2 metabolis...

Maybe it would be possible to combine your system with the use of specific sensors/indicators in oligodendrocytes (metabolites, glutamate etc) to potentially capture how and when it starts reacting to axonal damage, even before myelin changes become obvious?

1 month ago 1 0 0 0

But in models where many axons are damaged simultaneously, the threshold is reached, and then myelination by the oligo will be affected.

1 month ago 0 0 1 0

Congrats, great work! If axo-oligo signalling regulates the maintenance of myelin and oligos maintain up to 50-80 internodes, then it is likely that a loss of a single axon ( or 2) might not reach a "threshold" to let the oligo know myelin maintenance needs to be modified.

In this review, we explore Aβ production and functions of APP processing in non-neuronal cells as well as how targeting non-neuronal Aβ could lead to a more holistic disease prevention/targeting.
