Geo Cafe is brilliant, isn't it. Their Caversham branch is my favourite cafe. I will need to pop in and try that chocolate and pistachio cake, it sounds wonderful!
Red gold sun shining through trees, casting a beam of sunshine onto the woodland floor. A tree swing hangs from one of the beaches. It is peaceful.
We go for a walk most days at Balmore Park in Reading. It's lovely. There's a small wood, a meadow, areas left wild, as well as a big mown grassy area. I was stopped in my tracks last night as the sun shone through the trees, intensely red & gold. & yes, that is a tree swing. A perfect spot for it.
Thank you, Poppy! It was wonderful watching them

View from riverbank, looking over the river. In the foreground are bushes. On the river is a swan. In the distance, a field and a pretty, old building
Absurdly picturesque view from the park in Salisbury, looking it to the flood plain. So beautiful
If you see this, post a beach photo from your phone
Morecambe Bay from Aldingham beach. My favourite place in the world
which had the added benefit of making me look at paintings that wouldn't necessarily have caught my eye otherwise. The oysters remain my favourite of the food subjects. I would rather like that on my kitchen wall... 😂
I spent the afternoon at the National Gallery and found myself drawn to the painting of the oysters. I find it fascinating how food is depicted in art and the insight it offers into every day life at that time. So I had fun searching for more of this while I wandered around..

Incredible BBQ pork on Jeju island at a remote place recommended by an editor. I would never be able to find it again. No menu & we didn't speak Korean so had to just point at what the next table was eating. The juices dripped through into a dish of sauce on the BBQ. Had a beer. It was perfect
Two wonderful entities - intrigued Goose and bluebells

Thank you to everyone who made #ACRL2025 such a meaningful experience. Let’s continue championing the transformative power of libraries!
Having spent the previous few days with the dedicated people developing collections, managing spaces, providing instruction, and so much more, it was so lovely hearing how much their work is valued. Libraries are not just institutions—they are lifelines for curiosity, learning, and connection...
He visits at least once a month & for the rest of our journey, he enthusiastically told me about books he’s currently reading...
A moment that resonated with me came as I was leaving the event. My taxi driver, a young man in his 20s, asked what the conference was about. When I explained, his face lit up as he shared his love for his local library...

Last week, I had the privilege of attending the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) conference in Minneapolis. It was inspiring - every conversation reflected a shared passion for knowledge discovery and access...
