🚨🚨🚨 Mayor Gloria is proposing to completely eliminate the multimodal team as part of this year's budget. This is how most bike lanes across the City get constructed. Please take a second to tell him we need to keep this team ⬇️ #sandiego

I am excited to be able to work for a nonprofit vision to make immunizations more accessible.
Ah, next time then! We had great conversations and a good time.
I hope you're having a wonderful vacation
Jack, I would love to discuss this with you tomorrow (04/10) at Culture Brewing in Solana Beach. I'll be there from 6-8 pm as one of the two scientists at the Two Scientists Walk into a Bar event. Great spot for the conversation. And the course I'm taking now is "Biology in the Age of Technology" :)
It's Day 4 of Public Health Week, & we are excited to share our next pillar of the People's Health Platform: Prepare for the next pandemic. Because we know the next pandemic is coming, we must rebuild and strengthen the infrastructure to protect us from it. www.defendpublichealth.org/resource/peo...
I'm sorry, I provided the wrong link to the event info.
Here's the correct link: www.fleetscience.org/events/two-s...
See you there!
Blue sign with a graphic that shows a woman handing a basket of vegetables to another person and another photo of kids on bikes. The sign says in orange “make our communities healthier and safer”.
Each day during Public Health Week, @defendpublichealth.bsky.social will be highlighting two of the 10 planks in our People’s Health Platform.
This morning we are focusing on MAKING OUR COMMUNITIES HEALTHIER AND SAFER.
We'll be at Culture Brewing Solana Beach this Friday (20260410) for the Two Scientists Walk into a Bar event (6-8pm)!
Come join us and talk about science. It's open conversation and fun!

Today we’re leading off with a banger:
GUARANTEE HEALTHCARE FOR ALL
If you might be in the Solana Beach area on Friday (20260313), join me at Culture Brewing and we can talk about it.
And whatever other science curiosity you have. I'll be there as a volunteer for the Two Scientists Walk into a Bar event (6-8pm)!

I walked to Cardiff today, bringing my curiosity (and smiling and waving) to the Stand Up For Science Rally there.
Is it weird to need to "stand up for science"? Are there "stand up for math" rallies?
It was on my mind to ask, "what does science mean to you?"
I would love to have that conversation

E-bike display, showing 15,195 miles on the odometer.
My Tern HSD gets a ton of use (just passed 15,000 miles and closing in on 25,000 km) on all sorts of trips that I'm happy not to do by car. About 13,000 of the miles are on the same Gates belt and Enviolo hub (I swapped out the 11-speed drivetrain). I like it (except for the shifter)

Oh hey, H5N1 in Texas dairy cows! Are you a new spillover or have you always been there, undetected b/c of insufficient testing?
It’s migration season, almost flu season, & we’ve never had a handle on the cow outbreak. Bird flu is here & we ignore at our peril

#RFKJr wants to take away #COVID #vaccines (and then move on to #childhood #preventable #diseases). You can see it in the works now. Write to your member of #Congress now. This makes it easy to do so. @defendpublichealth.bsky.social actionnetwork.org/letters/writ...
I’ve heard from a couple of messaging strategists now that people shouldn’t post so much about COVID19 vaccines because it’s “divisive”.
I am here to say that I do not give a damn what is popular.
I will never ignore scientific evidence for the sake of expediency, and neither should anyone else.
Thank you for writing the article and for sharing it here! I wasn't aware of this problem. Now I am and will help spread the word!

There's 3 days left to tell SANDAG to spend less on freeways and more on bikes and trains:

Thanks for the nudge! I submitted my suggestions.
I think it would be wonderful if there could be a path to democratizing similar therapeutic peptides via decentralized production (in situ) with bacteria used in fermented foods (such as lactic acid bacteria).
Maybe best (for most of us who aren't trained veterinarians) not to handle any wild animals anywhere?
Fascinating study about a truly terrifying virus for cats. This is a big deal not just for veterinary infectious diseases, but virology in general. Just a crazy situation.
