We are co-locating with the FASEB Phospholipids SRC! Register for one to enjoy BOTH meetings!
Worked with a great team to organize @keystoneSymposia.bsky.social Fueling #MASH : #Metabolic Drivers & #Inflammatory Crosstalk, this April! Join us to explore emerging research in Vancouver! keysym.us/KSMASH26 #KSMASH26
Early Registration and Abstract deadline is in less than 2 weeks!
☕ @mikelangelipid.bsky.social @olzmannlab.bsky.social & co identify a #LipidDroplet quality control pathway in which FSP1 safeguards stored neutral lipids from lipid peroxidation, thereby preventing the induction of #ferroptosis.

Congrats! Groundbreaking work!
Quite a week for #lipidtime: phenomenal study using bifunctional lipid probes to quantify intracellular lipid transport from @nadlerlab.bsky.social and colleagues is now out @nature.com! www.nature.com/articles/s41...
Congrats Judi!!!
Understanding the predictors of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease—
ASCI member Peter Crawford & team suggest ketogenesis serves a protective role in MASLD-MASH progression via processes other than fat oxidation: buff.ly/f26w63M
These data are in agreement with www.nature.com/articles/s41... from @dremilygoldberg.bsky.social showing that HDAC1-3 can acylate proteins using fatty acids rather than their acyl-CoA derivatives as substrates. This raises many questions about epigenomic regulation via changes in metabolism.
Super excited to share our new publication identifying the food preservative, sorbic acid, as a new PTM. Even cooler is that the deacylation and acylation of this PTM is catalyzed by the non-canonical activity of Class I HDACs using free sorbate (not sorbyl-CoA) www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...
Congrats. This is very cool!
We recently published
@geroscience.bsky.social
the development and validation of the mouse social frailty index (mSFI) link.springer.com/article/10.1...
We now report a detailed step-by-step resource paper describing how to conduct the mSFI.

Proud to share the work of my forst ever PhD student and first author of this paper @dylanduerre.bsky.social!! Here, he summarizes it perfectly! #brownfat #metabolism #BCAA #heme @uwmadison.bsky.social @uofutahcihd.bsky.social
Congrats! That is so cool. I hope you are getting some royalties….

Neutral Lipids restrict DNA mobility!!
1. This has important implications for DNA repair in vivo,
2. also in vitro when you measure DNA breaks using the comet assay, beware!
3. And, we provide a fast new protocol overcoming this issue 😍

Can’t wait to read this. Congrats!
Soooo cool!
