Photo showing the River Severn flowing through the town of Shrewsbury in Shropshire. There are trees on either side of the river in the foreground (the deciduous trees have no leaves), a footbridge crosses the river in the near distance (at a point where the river turns to the right and disappears from view) and many houses and other buildings.

Researching #FamilyHistory, #LocalHistory or a #OnePlaceStudy in #Shropshire? Ancestry has just added a new record set, Shropshire, England, Wills and Probate, 1858-1940. These are registered copies of wills held by Shropshire Archives. Very useful following last year’s Probate Search price hike!

This black-and-white portrait of Frances Perkins captures her in a dignified, close-up pose.

She is wearing a dark, structured tricorn-style hat and a coat with a voluminous, dark fur collar that frames her face. A small white bow or decorative element is visible at her neckline. Her expression is calm and composed, with a slight, thoughtful smile as she looks directly at the camera. The background is a soft, neutral grey, keeping the focus entirely on her.

I found it to be very accurate. I had a professional translator translate a record and recently ran it through Scribe AI. No hallucinations, and it pointed me to a collection that I can use to get more information on one of my ancestors. I find it very different than a ChatGPT, Claude, etc.

Ugh - reminds me of when I shared Chanukah menorah lightin on TikTok. Most nights were all good comments but then one went particularly viral and I had some of the worst bots and people posting calling me a Nazi and posting other offensive images.
