Need I say more?
My fav group from #costarica, we managed to find 3 species: turquoise-browed, lesson's & broad-billed.
1st time on a non-work #birding trip and 1st time in #CostaRica has been a dream come true, including delivering this mega #lifer today along with >100 others so far! the thriving #ecotourism here gives me hope for the world...
naturecounts.ca/nc/socb-epoc... In case you missed it last Fall when this was released. I'd never posted it here before. Super informative: pick your fave species and see how it has been trending.

Ok #superseabirdsunday, I'll play! Here are some northern #fulmars doing what they do best at the flow edge of Admiralty Inlet in #Nunavut #Arctic #Canada
Agreed on a grey blue! Like a heathered blue? But I'll buy whatever you choose... This is an awesome t-shirt idea!
Yah! I've guided New Brunswick and the flow edge for them π
Really important read about the extinction of experience among ecologists - and the barriers to doing fieldwork - both in teaching & research. @kevinjgaston.bsky.social Likely to hinder our efforts to address the biodiversity crisis doi.org/10.1016/j.tr... ππ§ͺ
Not for this project, but I love that platform!
Looking for a #bird related volunteer opportunity to kick off 2025? Help us count our #fulmar survey photos to update our population estimates! Email me if you're interested.

Where are all the field studies?
This β¬οΈ important but rather depressing paper describes how conducting, & crucially initiating, field studies is becoming harder & rarer.
