Paper alert! I'm happy to share that my first research paper has been published! 🐝🌸

Road verges can support #pollinators but their potential for preserving representatively diverse and even communities is limited, due in part to high densities of non-native plants.

Really excited to share that the first paper I’ve contributed to has been published! With the help of citizen science, we described 34 new Australian parasitoid wasp species, including Apanteles darthvaderi. doi.org/10.3897/zook...

Exciting new addition to the skyline here @harperadamsuni.bsky.social with the installation of a @rothamsted.bsky.social Insect Survey suction tower. Part of BBSRC-supported National Capability, this 12.2m high tower joins 15 other towers recording the migration patterns of aphids.

49 million-year-old beetle looks like it was squashed yesterday Paleontologists named the insect "Attenborough's Beauty," after Sir David Attenborough.

Here's a stunner for #FossilFriday, just look at that beetle's preserved wing case! It belongs to a group called frog-legged leaf beetles (so-named for their extra-juicy rear legs), paleontologists called its pattern "the most perfectly preserved pigment-based colouration known in fossil beetles" 🧪

Well I guess I'm here now. Hi friends👋.

And this is what I look like in case you forgot or we haven't met before.

I'm hoping I can connect with fellow insect enthusiasts, educators and all round appreciators of science like myself.

An infographic illustrating the findings of our new paper on the cultural ecosystem services of wetlands. The infographic features, as the centre, a drawing of a wetland (featuring reeds, water, a small wading bird, and some insects). Arranged around this central image are bubbles that list the percentage of papers that we reviewed that reported information on different types of cultural ecosystem services associated with wetlands. These include categories such as recreation and tourism, inspiration, sense of place, aesthetic value, and bequest.
