Expense is why I have to build the frames myself instead of finding a frame shop. #kidlitchat I moved, and now I have wood floors instead of apartment carpet so I can make the frames as square as the floor can be.
I definitely do that with dialogue. Turns out, I don't know how people talk to each other when it's just in my head. #kidlitchat
To that end, I have around 20 paintings that I'm running out of excuses to procrastinate finishing because I have the space and resources to make the frames now. I'm gonna have to accept when they're finished and look for gallery space. #kidlitchat
I have years of false starts that sometimes combine to make bigger, better stories much later. #kidlitchat
My usual plan is to walk away from it for 6-9 months so i forget 80% of the story, then revisit it when I find it accidentally while archiving files. Sometimes it works. #kidlitchat

I can listen to instrumental music when I write, but it definitely affects the writing, especially if it's a movie score. Anything with human speech is definitely a no. I start typing what they're saying. #kidlitchat
No warm up in particular, other than pie. Drawing happens pretty quickly, writing can take weeks/months working on a story in my head, writing detailed notes on crumpled post-it's until I lose them all in a fit of cleaning, then sit down and rewrite it all in a single, panicked evening. #kidlitchat
