In our last seminar, Alexander-von-Humboldt Fellow Prof. Dr. Calvin Tadmon from the University of Dschang, Cameroon, used mathematical models to explain the dynamics of the Ebola virus. These models simulate the virus's spread and identify important factors, such as temperature, rainfall and transmission routes. It has been a pleasure for the IQCB Mainz to organise this event together with Nathaniel Deimler, Dr. Andre Holzer, Prof. Peter Baumann and Prof. Susanne Gerber, and with the support of the University of Mainz, the University Medical Center Mainz, Holzer Scientific Consulting, and the DFG Transregio 319 RMaP.

Great seminar on 26 February! We had the pleasure of welcoming Prof Andreas Deutsch from Technische Universitรคt Dresden to our IQCB Seminar Series Cross Disciplines. He showed mathematical models such as Conway's Game of Life, which help us to understand how tumours grow and how their growth can be contained. On this topic he published a book with Sabine Dormann from Universitรคt Osnabrรผck entitled "Cellular Automaton Modeling of Biological Pattern Formation" with the DOI 10.1007/978-1-4899-7980-3.
