Yes they are supposed to function just like a human. But Jefferson’s heart gem (item that powers a zombie) got messed up during the animation ritual and he has a disease known as rot. Basically the necrotic magic can’t fully stabilize him.

One of the dumber things about fake fits of right wing outrage, such as Texans crying about Muslims & halal food sold in HEB is that these yahoos never said anything public about their racism & xeniphobia...until Trump MAGAts emboldened them...

Tyler is the side character who suffers the most. Over all as a necromancer life is hard but add on that your first “born” zombie is crazy and it’s worse. Which drives her to be the FMC in book 2.

It’s implied that the characters are reading because it’s a text exchange.

There is a lot of the word heat in my novel because they are in summer but this paragraph is one of my favorites.

I tend to describe the weather when it impacts the scene. If my characters are outside on the roof of a parking garage in the middle of summer they won’t want to be there long because it’s hot and Texas. That’s when I describe it.

Jessica is just a well groomed person. She can be messy but not a full on slob.

Alex is the same way but he has more cleaning tendencies. Since he lives with Tyler who is 99% a mess he’s always cleaning up after her.

Tyler’s only clean organized space is her necromancy lab.
