So I ended up going down a research rabithole about werewolves in europe and its really facsinating how empathetic a bunch of 12th century poems were about werewolves. The werewolves still got violent but ultimately their humanity was recognized and they were accepted even if they couldnt turn back.

These beautiful butterflies were on Millennium Fields, a mile from my Fulford (York) home. 2021 I saw 2, 2022, 2 females, 2023 2 males and a female. All the necessary larval food available in a perfect site.

2023 2 males and a female. He DEFINITELY was interested, she less so. Had she already mated? Would there be more Marbled White in 2024? Sadly there were none. The area was badly overgrown with tall grasses and butterfly numbers of all species very low, even those I usually see in good numbers. It's possible that one species, never more than 6 a season, is lost as I didn't see any second brood. Again the grasses denied me access and smothered its only larval food plant. A very anxious wait next spring...

A wolf’s coat consists of 2 elements: guard hairs that form the visible outer layer of the fur + a soft undercoat that keeps them comfortable in cooler temps.
