Aloha! What’s unusual about the marbled godwits is that they are more beautiful when they are not breeding. Their stomach is a rich cinnamon and their overall plumage is richer in color. Strange. This was in November. 🪶

I'm not sure exactly when the book that changed my life entered our house - sometime in early 2001. Anyway, it's my 25th birdiversery! This guide was my constant companion for several years and came on every family trip. So much of who I am today is because I love birds, and that started here 🪶

You’re right.

A large, turkey-like bird walks across a lawn, its back to the camera. Its bill is black with a yellow tip.

A new study estimates that the number of deaths from COVID19 early in the pandemic was undercounted by more than 150,000 cases.

The undercount was most common among Black, Hispanic and Native Americans, as well as those with low household income.
