Another shot of the ship from the new Odyssey film. As an ancient ship person, this is hilariously inaccurate. Consider adding one of the Roman or Punic three-bladed waterline rams kept at Favignana, where they are filming. Another naval component not present in Homer couldn't hurt, right?
They are using a Viking ship in the film??
Humbled that our experimental ram has sparked global curiosity, featuring in news across the US, UK, Australia, Russia, Turkey, Italy, Denmark, France, and the Netherlands! Ancient naval history isn’t just about battles—it’s a window into human creativity and resilience.

It definitely depends on what you are using it for. They both have pros and cons. I use reality capture a lot because it has a seamless integration with Unreal Engine 5 which I use for VR stuff. But metashape is definitely less fussy overall.
Agisoft metashape and Reality capture are the two main programs I use.

Summer 2024. Liverpool Cove Survey with @patrickjboyle.bsky.social. Sadly no naval rams were found in Maryland, but it was a fun project!
