What a wonderful world - amidst all the other crap.

Clouds of cockatoos greeted me at the gates of my favourite hills garden, shrieking their little hearts out, but first bird seen was a yellow thornbill, hop searching just above me as I weeded under the maples. #FirstBirdOfTheDay #WhatsYours

Slept in late and missed the magpie parade so first birds were 3 little ravens breezing across the highway as I drove down the road. A side viewing of 2 more ravens chasing each other on the edges of the footy oval. Beautiful day☀️🍂 #FirstBirdOfMyDay #WhatsYours

Almost identical to yesterday- the wattlebird back on its favoured perch and snacking on the salvia. It swooped around the corner and found the last flowers of the kangaroo paw just as the magpies flew in to warble for their breakfast.

A large flock of cockatoos flew from a gum tree on one side of the road to the gum on the other side of the road, a distance of about 5 metres. Not sure why they bothered! #FirstBirdOdfMyDay #WhatsYours

Back home and the long, soft grey tail tipped with white of the wattle bird was my first sighting. I didn’t see the whole bird but the flight path from the viburnum to the camellia, diagonally across the front garden was the usual one. #FirstBirdOfMyDay #WhatsYours

I can just imagine it.

Kookaburras sitting on the many gum trees surrounding my tent (glamping😁) and waking me up before the magpies got started, however the first birds seen were 4 pink galahs foraging in the wet grass on the way in to the festival. #FirstBirdOfMyDay #Whatsyours
