I’ve actually forgotten what bird I saw first this morning but the bird that accompanied a glass of wine this evening as we watched the sun lowering in the sky was an eastern spinebill hovering around the salvias and flitting between the shrubs. #FirstBirdOfMyDay #WhatsYours

I had the pleasure of seeing my first grey butcherbird of the year, appearing out of nowhere to snap up some meaty scraps on the lawn this morning then flying away with a beak fully loaded. #FirstBirdOfMyDay #WhatsYours

Nobody asked #WhatsYours 2day, but anyway: When 1st stepped outside, saw ground covered in half-dried leaflets fr sugarberry tree. As I looked high into the branches wondering why, eye was drawn to a bright red northern cardinal glowing in the earliest rays of a not-yet-risen sun. #FirstBirdOfMyDay
