A set of wooden rods in different colours representing numbers, in a plastic case. They are called Cuisenaire rods. Long orange rods are on top of the set, four can be seen. Along the bottom of the frame are green, back, brown and blue rods still in their slots in the case. The image has been cropped in the app.

The concept of using rods in maths has its origins in the 1820s. Cuisenaire rods date to the 1950s, these though are probably about 20 years old.

It seems it was available only in Australia and New Zealand in the early 2000s. We made these in a holiday house in Katoomba NSW a few years ago.

Looking down at two purple canvas shoes being worn, looking like Converse Chuck 70 hi-tops but are not that particular brand. The shoes are new, so the laces are very white, as is the white on the shoes themselves. The shoes are in the sun so they look extra bright.

Close up view of two African daisy yellow flowers just after rain, one behind the other growing on the plant. The one in front is in focus, and its centre has a shale shape that looks like a pinwheel as the florets are not all raised. The second flower appears to have a fluffy centre, though it is not in focus. Raindrops can be seen on both flowers. The background consists of leaves of the plant and in the lower left of the frame a low front fence.

Possibly the shape of a pinwheel in the centre of the front flower, then again

According to a friend of mine who found his father's old film filled camera, there are tips for shooting with time-expired film. I will be looking them up before I go out and use what is left in the roll, along with finding somewhere that processes film in this day and age.

I will need to find somewhere that processes film these days, but I may take you up on you offer 😄

A camera that was introduced in 1954 and last produced in 1959. It is a Voigtländer model Vito B, not sure which variation. There is one 50mm fixed lens attached to the camera. The aperture is set on the front of the lens, focus in the middle and shutter speed is the closest dial to the cameras body The camera is black on the sides and the rest silver. Next to the camera and not fully seen is the camera case and strap, that looks a little worse for wear.

Not #Old in the grand scheme of things, but this camera was produced between 1954-59. I'm thinking it would be called vintage?

It was amongst mum's things and still has film in it. I'm tempted to give it a good clean and try it out.

View of a footpath and suburban streets at a T junction. Eight wheelie bins are on the footpath, in two groups. One group, towards the front, has red bins, two are one size, the other smaller. The other group has mostly yellow lids, with one red. The yellow bins are all the same size, the red smaller. One of the yellow lids is open. The council is shown to be Inner West by the logo on the bins, in Sydney. Cars are parked on the street. Two trees and a power pole are on the verge. A yellow sigh, only partly seen is attached to metal pole by the red bin group. Part of a white sign is seen below the yellow sign, attached to an unseen metal pole. Across the road is another red bin left on the verge, close to a power pole and a car parked on the street.

It was a nice afternoon, all the bins were (still, after five days but who's counting??) out. And not a bin chicken in sight.

A sunset seen through smoke. The clouds are low in the sky, with colours of orange, yellow and bruised purple that are possibly intensified due to a layer of smoke from hazard reduction burning surrounding Sydney.. The sun has only just set so around it is bright yellow. A bird is flying in the sky, to the left of the frame. The foreground is in silhouette, and consists of trees, power poles and wires and a parkland.

Three raindrops splashing on the top of a wooden balcony railing. The top railing and corner post are green and the pickets are beige. In the background close to the railing is a pine tree and further back are more pine trees. Rain can be seen falling but you need to look closely to be able to see it.

A suburban street with cars lining each side. On the left side closest to the camera are two signs. On sign has a 40 speed limit with Local traffic area. The other sign, behind, says End school zone and a 40 speed limit. There is very little distance between the two signs,, so it would seem that the 40 speed limit zone lasts for about 5 metres maximum.

The outside of a building with either a glass wall or large window, depending on how you define such things. There is some silver metal holding the glass panels in place, looking like minimal scaffolding. The inside of the building can be seen, mostly white panels with some small rectangular internal windows visible. Reflections are seen on the glass, of trees and other surrounding buildings.

Wall, window, or both?
Either way, there's definitely a reflection.

The photo has been taken on a day where it has been raining and misty all morning, so the spider web on the mint is covered in tiny droplets of water.
