The hardest part about writing is coming up with a title.
The second hardest is coming up with a pen name.
I seriously thought for a second that it was a self driving vehicle gone rogue
Yeah I don't tell my parents what I write anymore, and they don't ask

Lastak wouldn't be too bad. She keeps to herself. Yes her room may get messy but it's just her room. Her pet may become a problem once he reaches the approximate size of a minivan, but he's cute so I'd probably let that slide.
Follow up question: if you and all three of them are sharing a house, who would move out first?

Candied fruit. Also various confections made of sugar/honey and various flours, with fruit and nuts, or the same battered and fried. Or fried dough coated in sugar/spiced sugar.
The specifics can get very regional.
At this point in the story, some of her opinions would get a few looks anywhere.
She knows it though, so she doesn't say any of it out loud.
is something of an achievement because it means faster sensors, processing, and control, and potentially more strain on the robot.
In short, they're emphasizing the wrong part in the headline. As usual.

There's reasons it's technically impressive, such as battery capacity, maintaining performance for that long (cooling, etc), and potentially everything related to working with a somewhat unpredictable environment.
The impressive part isn't it being faster than a person, though speed in itself

Yeah, more than a few. Some are a little spoilery. Her views on the political situation in her home country wouldn't be popular with anyone (not that her opinions are necessarily bad, she has seen the problem from more sides than most people have and she has nothing to lose)
That's probably the worst possible texture for ice cream

He uses a lot of horses. Does that count?
Otherwise, there are a few other animals (including magical beasts) his forces use, and some of these can be nasty, but these are not directly under his command (and he has no direct control over a lot of them).

Dried fruit, dried/salted meat, cheese, grain/flour, hardtack like biscuits. They also have something like protein bars. There are also some specific high energy confections that I can't really explain well that are used.
Water is generally not a problem in this setting.
True. The reason she doesn't do that in the story is because she can't afford to house and feed one, and I don't see that problem going away (let alone all of the other practical issues).

Lastak would probably go with a bicycle mostly because I can't see her dealing with getting a drivers license. If she has to get a car it will be the cheapest, most boring and functional option possible.
(I'm guessing horses aren't any option)

Fruits, nuts, and fried dough creations primarily. There are many different types of fried stuff with all kinds of spices and syrups and flavorings and all of that.
There's also creative ways of frying various tubers and meat skewers that are popular.

They're not exactly isolationist, but they tend to keep to themselves. They like staying in their forest, but they will exchange information. They will not interfere with human conflicts as long as it doesn't touch them, but will defend themselves and their forests.

Depends on when you catch her but she has a sizeable kitchen knife and a dagger on her. She's in trouble.
Does he carry anything they usually test for in airports?
right and is invested in keeping the institution going as much as he is.
The head of the government is another matter. The king does not trust him at all, treating him as a necessary evil.

It's unclear who his second in command is, it could either be the queen or the second in command in his government.
It's worth mentioning he has executed his second in command before.
He trusts the queen more than most and treats her well. It helps she is a royal in her own

Lastak would and split the money with said friend.
It's better to have her do the punching because she's a relatively tiny woman, and she's trained so she can avoid causing too much damage.
(also if the likely partner in this con punches her she will become airborne, probably)
She's okay with reasonable level of spice. A certain fire mage just does not understand what a lethal dose of capsasin is.

They aren't held to human laws, because, well, a lot of people can't tell them apart that well and you're not chasing one in a forest. They're actually respected and a little feared otherwise, as guardians of the forests.
They have law codes among themselves.
but the raw material may vary slightly (i.e., different fruit). Mead is also a thing, though not super popular in this region.
For non-alcoholic options, there's an infinite variety of teas and fruit based drinks. Milk is a common addition.
Also they add spices or herbs to a lot of drinks.

On page, they mostly drink a type of tea (it's close to regular black tea) and a kind of fruit juice (no direct analog, it's a sort of spiced orange/lemon ish drink). There's also several other popular drinks, including alcoholic ones. Wines, beers are popular,

Lastak isn't picky and will go with whatever everyone else picks, unless extremely spicy is an option and a certain someone is ordering. In that case she'll probably ask for plain cheese.
Love how this draft2digital nonsense happened just before I have a workable manuscript (and start thinking about publication).
If anyone needs me I will be screaming into the void.
combination of spices and floral or fruity flavours, and milk-adjacent stuff.
Some of these are also seasonal or tied to specific holidays or extremely regional (like one mountain range or part of a city regional).
