Thanks for sharing. Your photo was beautiful, but this video really is incredible - what a vast carpet of flowers, a truly wonderful sight. How lucky you are to enjoy this spectacle in person. πΈπΈπΈ

Totally worth it! π
It's a beautiful picture - so delicate. π
Wow!!! What a spectacular scene! π
Thank you. Durlston is always a treat to visit - it's situated on the Purbeck coastline, near Swanage, in Dorset and is great for scenery, birds and flora (and I have to pass a fab bakery en-route, so I am always furnished with the best snacks when I visit too!!!). π

Hindered by a glass of wine....again!!! π·π
Early Spider, Green-winged and Early Purple orchids at Durlston Country Park, Swanage. 19.4.26
After being thoroughly spoilt on @mariposanature.bsky.social Orchids Of Rhodes tour, this week back at home has felt a bit empty.
An orchid fix was needed!
A fab trip to Durlston delivered Early Spider, Green-winged & Early Purple #Orchids to enjoy in a gorgeous location. Perfect.

Cuckooflower - Lorton Meadows, Weymouth Honesty and Garlic Mustard - Swineham, Nr Wareham
A trio of Brassicas for this week's #wildflower challenge.
My visit to the stunning Bluethroat at Swineham yesterday also gifted me displays of Garlic Mustard with bursts of pink Honesty.
And today delicate Cuckooflower patrolled by Orange Tip butterflies - too flighty for a photo!

A gorgeous day for my Butterfly Transect at Lorton Meadows. π
This Red Admiral looked fantastic on blossom, with Orange Tip & Peacock also seen.
Other highlights: Early Purple #Orchid, Green Woodpecker & Marsh Harrier.

Lovely - my favourite butterfly! π¦
Lovely photos, Phil - what a gorgeous bird. I dipped yesterday so will have to try again. π€
Absolutely unforgettable - these orchids were jaw-dropping! One of many wonderful memories from an incredible week. π€πΈ
Exquisite! And yes, it was just the BEST week! Totally blown away by the experience. π€
They really were show-stoppers, weren't they. ππ
It really was amazing - the orchids were incredible, but it was so much more - a fantastic experience in every respect. π
Beautiful!
Violet Limodore in woodland on the Greek island, Rhodes. Seen on Mariposa's Orchids of Rhodes tour.
My #woodlandplants for this week's #wildflowerhour are these stunning orchids - Violet Limodore.
Sadly, not a UK plant, but they really are too gorgeous not to share - look at them!! π
One of many fabulous plants seen with @mariposanature.bsky.social on their exceptional #OrchidsofRhodes tour.
Wow - that is ALOT of Cowslips!! Beautiful.
Cowslips in Dorset
Close up of Cowslip flowers
Sheep family, a ewe with two bouncing lambs.
Just a couple of flowers found for this week's #cowslipchallenge taken in Dorset earlier this week before my holiday.
A bit of a favourite spring flower - they are the perfect shade of yellow!
Plus, as it's Easter, some gratuitous spring lambs, mid bounce!! π

Close up view of a common field speedwell flower. Weymouth.
I see Common Field Speedwell so often, to be honest, I had forgotten how wonderful the flowers are.
Got down on the floor this week in my local lane for a proper good look and was blown away - what a cracking little flower.

Scarlet (or maybe Ruby) Elf Cup growing in Duncliffe Wood, Dorset.
Whose day isn't improved by finding Scarlet Elf Cup #fungi?! π
Very happy to come across a number of these whilst enjoying the spring flowers in Dorset woodland this week.
Happy #FungiFriday π
Thank you!
I am very lucky - here in Dorset there are a number of ancient woodlands with spectacular displays at this time of year. π
Wow!! π
What a fantastic find! Gorgeous shade of blue. π
Such a beautiful collage. π
Bluebells (and a white bell!) at Duncliffe Woods, North Dorset 29.3.26
Top row - Wood Anemones Bottom Left - Barren Strawberry Bottom Right - Greater Stitchwort Duncliffe Woods 29.3.26
Duncliffe Woods impressed today with extensive swathes of Bluebells (incl a lovely white-flowered one) creating magical carpets of colour.
Plus, plenty of Wood Anemones - a pretty pink blush on the underside, delicate Barren Strawberry and gorgeous Greater Stitchwort flowers.

Acorns germinating in Duncliffe Woods. 29.3.26
Also not #treeflowers - but pretty cool, in my opinion - the outcome from flowering last year - acorn germination in action!
So many of these eye-catching red kernels seen in Duncliffe Woods today, thrusting their first root down into the soil to create the next generation of Oaks.

Moss-covered fallen tree, Duncliffe Woods, Dorset, with a lovely clump of Lesser Celandines growing on top. 29.3.26
In my search for #treeflowers for this week's #wildflowerhour challenge I spotted this cheery clump of Lesser Celandines growing on a rather lovely old, moss-covered, fallen tree.
Probably stretching the rules slightly for the theme π
, but too pretty not to share.
Duncliffe Woods, North Dorset.
Lovely! And the third "mid-bounce" picture really made me smile. π
Cuckooflower in flower in Weymouth. 26.3.26
Brilliant bike ride today - two firsts for the year.
Very pretty Cuckooflowers just opening (a foodplant for the Orange Tip).
And around the corner - a stunning male Orange Tip butterfly busily patrolling the verge (Southill, Weymouth).
Hurrah!
