OMFG I had to go and check that this ACTUALLY happened.

Since when does the BBC ever do chyrons with a political party's branding, rather than their own? Not to mention this is during a pre-election campaign purdah.

📌Pope Leo XIV TODAY:

“The world is being ravaged by a handful of tyrants. Blessed are the peacemakers, but woe to those who manipulate religion and the name of God for their own military, economic and political gain, dragging that which is sacred into darkness and filth.”

He is NOT backing down.

Article: Chronic diseases misdiagnosed as psychosomatic can lead to long term damage

This happens to nearly all myalgic encephelomyelitis patients. It’s brutal, but validating and important to see the harm named and studied.

The only aspect poorly understood about #COVID is WHY it is still being ignored by most governments, when we have 480,000+ published studies about COVID that attest to it not being just like "any other respiratory illness":

What can wage development before and after a G93.3 diagnosis tell us about prognoses for myalgic encephalomyelitis? Prognoses for persons affected by myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME) are rarely studied systematically. Existing studies are often based on smaller sample…

ME/CFS should meet the “severe and lifelong” criteria as recovery is rare: "full recovery from zero or very low labor capability around .. diagnosis leads to a total return to jobs with normal wages in only exceptional cases" www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

"That’s a delivery driver who has not yet had the car crash that will paralyse him, a trainee teacher who’ll go on to get a bipolar diagnosis, a nurse who’s just caught that bad cough that will sadly develop into long Covid."

You simply don't know if you're going to be affected by this brutal cut

Charities and disabled people’s organisations, including Mind, Scope, MS Soc, Turn2Us and Mencap told the Guardian that a wide range of debilitating conditions may not meet the strict eligibility criteria. This includes MS, learning disabilities, bipolar, Parkinson’s, ME and long Covid. 3/5

Hundreds of thousands of disabled people will have their benefit almost halved if the government assesses their condition might one day improve. Charities warn the move could cause large-scale hardship, including “destitution.”

A backbench revolt fought off previous govt attempt to cut disability benefits. Same needed again.

No attempt to cut corporate welfare - auto, steel, Internet, energy, shipbuilding receive subsidies.

ME: Swansea man was active but now he can't walk or talk at 28 Tomos is one of thousands with ME in Wales, with services described as “a desert” for those most affected.

Fair play to BBC news. They've written a host of pieces about Long Covid, and ME (CFS) lately. Insane that millions suffer in the UK but doctors are still not routinely taught about it. Meaning patients are often abandoned with no treatment beyond anti-depressants.

Dr @binitakane.bsky.social explains how a theory that #MECFS is caused by deconditioning and a fear of exercise permeated medicine and framed the illness as psychological. This led to the patients being neglected, gaslit, and some would say abused. Causing huge trauma for the community.

We can't think from this that the Covid-19 pandemic happened in the past, and the government needs to prepare for a future one. But Covid-19 is ongoing, and it needs to control its spread and is to protect healthcare workers and patients *now*, and to support those with Long Covid.
