First up is the new layout functionality, which allows you to change the layout of panels, such as transcript, media players, timeline etc to suit your personal preferences. In the screenshots, you can see:
a layout rather like v1.0 but with 4 videos instead of 2.

We have been furiously working for the last months on a big update to DOTE v2.0! It is not yet ready for beta testing and official release, but we hope it will be ready early in 2026. In the meantime, we will post some tantalising screenshots of new features that have already been implemented.

That is still the case. With DOTE you can add a sync-code in the beginning of each line (not the end). But know you can a transcript clips and media clips with DOTEbase youtu.be/HPYFak345mo

We are finalising our new software package 360mash to support basic video editing tasks needed for qualitative video research. 360mash is a free, cross-platform, lightweight tool for clipping, reframing and anonymising 2D, 180 and 360 videos and exporting the resulting video as fast as possible.
