Christmas fern, Polystichium acrostichoides, is a fern often found in mesic, well drained, uplands. The second picture shows Netted Chain Fern, Lorinseria areolata, a fern of bottomlands and wetlands. Both occur at Stone Mountain, in different areas.

And shake about the trees.

Although our native plants are very hardy, and don't require a lot of "molly-coddling" (what is the origin of that term, anyway?) they are in plastic pots, and their roots wouldn't take kindly to being frozen solid. Which won't happen when they're planted in the ground.
