Went to my happy place today, bike ride on Humber River Trail & it was poppin’! Saw THREE Great Blue Herons, egret, falcons +more! Also happy to report the DEET alternative Icaridin mosquito repellent WORKED GREAT! It was humid, skeeters were out & I DIDN’T get bit! Best part, no odor, not greasy 🙌

Gitt's Crazy. I wasn't convinced that this was right, but it seems to be a highly variable flower. And I love it! A lovely soft blend of magenta and yellow, with white tips, informal decorative. This one is a late bloomer and definitely needs plenty of sunlight. Last year, I had her in a place that was too shaded and didn't get any flowers, but did get several tubers to try again this year.
Vancouver. A large novelty with tons of thin petals, purple-burgendy and tipped in white. She's kinda like a firework, even with the tips chomped off.
AC Paint. Striped magenta and white petals, nibbled on the edges. Suddenly thete are a bunch opening up in the middle of a hurricane, which I guess is what you get when you start aggressively removing damaged buds.
Southern Belle. She's been protected by a bag, and now is about to be overblown, too wet to dry. So I'm gonna pollinate get and save and seeds. Now I gotta decide where I can get some interesting pollen in time.
