Our plans are quite exciting!
We're going to be a keystone partner in Belfast Stories: the new attraction & creative hub in the heart of the city.
The Digital Film Archive is seen as integral to exploring the history & people Belfast.

Fun architecture trivia: The sails of the Sydney Opera House are sections of a single sphere. Construction was controversial, costly and slow—14 years, 10,000 workers, political drama and engineering breakthroughs—but it rose from chaos (1959–73) to become an icon. Source: buff.ly/KddT3G1
💖 Hope this Quokka brings ya

A picture of a rather dilapidated copy of "The picture of Dorian Gray" There is visible water damage to the cover and the plastic cover is yellowing. Obviously, not evident from the picture but there is a truly foul musty smell emanating from it!
Last week, a gentleman returned this rather dilapidated copy of this famous book to us after 50 years. He had found it in his attic!
Presumably this means there is a pristine copy somewhere in our libraries....
I think this is my favourite so far. Alice Knox in Blackrock, Co. Dublin who is very glad to be single. #1926census

Best part of the 1926 Irish census (apart from everyone having 11 kids) has to be the boarders. Look at these lads
I've done another video to explain how to use the #1926census map search as well. Please share. #Speirgorm #IrishGenealogy #Genealogy #FamilyHistory

The newly released census of Ireland for 1926 shows “General trained and maternity nurse” Caroline Cassidy as a ‘visitor’ in my grandparents’ house. Now I know the name of the woman looking after my newborn mother in this photo. She’s the baby on her sister’s lap. #SpeirGorm #census #familyhistory
This is just to say
I have let in
the duck
that was on the doorstep
and which
you were probably
hoping
would stay out
Forgive me
he was persuasive
so scary
and so loud.
After a day of excitement, here's my initial look at the #1926census.

A large white waterfowl with orange feet stands in front of a door. On the door is a cardboard sign secured with tape that reads, "DO NOT LET THE DUCK IN." Adding insult to injury, I think the duck might be a goose.

Welcome to Super Seabird Sunday where we ask you to share photos, videos & artwork of seabirds to brighten timelines. Here are two Puffins ‘billing’ a behaviour which is seen at this time of year to strengthen pair bonds #SuperSeabirdSunday

As a non-native English speaker I must say Marlene’s list is a great showcase of how tricky English can be at times.

The site has held up really well, I only had a couple of glitches loading images and I don't know if those were due to bad links or heavy traffic. IrishGenealogy seemed to be struggling more!
Have downloaded 33 #1926Census returns for all the aunts, uncles and cousins on my list. Quite a few others who are nowhere to be found, but I'll take a break and think about how I might be able to locate them.

Found my first little mystery in the #1926Census, so that's me happy 😄 #IrishGenealogy
Utterly Betrayed The Rt Hon. Ralph St John Cholmondley having moped around glolmondley for three weeks in Belvoir with glandular felvoir, decided to surprise his fiancé in Frome. Bursting into the rome, he found her cavorting with an awick from Hawick (via Worcester), whose close attentions had left her all of a florcester. His fiancé, who hailed from Beaulieu, begged him not to get upset undeaulieu, as Ralph stared at them, boggle-eyed. Things aren’t how they look, she cried. Brian Bilston
Today’s poem is called ‘Utterly Betrayed’.
Examples of broken, auto-generated link and an amended, functioning link.
The generated links to the actual #1926Census records all appear to be broken (for me anyway), but can be fixed by adding %20 to join the two parts. #IrishGenealogy
Examples of an auto-generated link to a census transcription page, and a modified short link.
Playing with links to the #1926Census. The generated links are quite long and messy, so if you want a neat link to an individual's transcription page, the key bit of info that needs to be at the end is:
/#a_id=XXXXX (replacing the Xs with the ID number). #IrishGenealogy
Me too. It's every record so far...
I'm finding a lot of transcription errors in every column other than the names (which have been pretty good so far), and a lot of information has not been transcribed even where it is easy to read on the form #1926Census
