β€˜The studies showed that
-chlorpyrifos-
disrupts autophagy,
the cellular system responsible for clearing damaged proteins from cells.

"Education is critical"
says the Minister for Skills & Training in the Albanese ministry, @andrewgilesmp.bsky.social - as said Albanese Ministry denies funding for public education while pouring it into the private schools.

So, when Andrew says 'education is critical', he only means for some kids.

Meningococcus is transmitted by aerosol or direct contact with respiratory secretions of patients or healthy human carriers. As a rule, endemic disease occurs primarily in children and adolescents, with highest attack rates in infants aged 3-12 months, whereas in epidemics older children and young adults may be more involved. Nasopharyngeal carriage of meningococci is most common among adolescents and young adults, less so among young children and relatively rare in adult populations. Transient nasopharyngeal carriage rather than disease is the normal outcome of meningococcal colonization.

WHO says meningococcal disease is airborne.

It's pretty clear now that all droplets are generated with aerosols, and everything we mistook as physics-defying droplet transmission is actually aerosol transmission.

Symptom Spotlight
Post-exertional malaise: not just tired
https://mecfssa.org.au/resources/post-exertional-malaise-pem
β€’ Key Symptom of ME/CFS: Post-Exertional Malaise
β€’ Post-exertional malaise (PEM) or post-exertional neuroimmune exhaustion (PENE)
is a pathological loss of energy and worsening of symptoms following minimal
physical, mental or emotional effort, or other triggers. The onset of PEM may be
immediate or delayed by several hours or days. Recovery is prolonged and may
take days, weeks or months.
β€’ When people with ME/CFS push themselves to use more than their available
energy reserves, the loss in
functional capacity is inevitable
and cannot be reversed by a
long rest or a good night's
sleep.
People often struggle to describe
this loss of energy, weakness and
exacerbation of symptoms. They
may use words like crash,
payback, debilitating exhaustion.

Figure 6. Personalized treatments outperform standard of care. For both SCFAs, an optimal prebiotic and/or probiotic treatment combination was selected and compared against a standard treatment, which consisted of inulin and the 5-strain probiotic cocktail. In both cases, the individual-specific optimal treatment showed significantly higher levels of production. Significance determined by Mann-Whitney U-test, *** = p<0.001.

The original synbiotic contained inulin. If we set inulin as the 'standard' intervention, we find that a individually-tailored prebiotic intervention almost always performs better than the standard, in terms of SCFA production.

Abstract
Background: In the context of long COVID, persistent fatigue is among the most prevalent symptoms that can develop after SARS-CoV-2 infection. Mitochondrial myopathy and endothelial dysfunction, which are triggers of inflammation, have emerged as prominent causes of long COVID-induced fatigue. Interestingly, the intake of flavanols, particularly (βˆ’)-epicatechin (EC), has been associated with the positive modulation of endothelial and mitochondrial structure and function. Methods: In this work, we conducted a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial to determine whether an EC-enriched supplement (ECES) improves plasma markers of inflammation, endothelial structure, and fatigue-related endpoints in patients with long COVID-19. Results: The study included 46 subjects (mean age 52 years) who were instructed to consume two capsules/day for 90 days of either ECES (n = 23) or placebo (n = 23). Endpoints assessed included mean changes in plasma inflammatory markers (IL-1Ξ², IL-6, and TNF-Ξ±) and endothelial dysfunction markers (syndecan-1), handgrip strength, fatigue scale, and quality of life (QoL). The results showed significant improvements in the ECES group for inflammatory markers, syndecan-1, and fatigue compared with the placebo group. Conclusions: The results yield intriguing positive findings for EC and open a new avenue for treating long COVID.
