A buff tip moth, which camouflages itself by looking like a broken bit of a silver birch branch. It’s silvery-grey, with wings at rest that look a lot like bark. Yellow-beige colouring at the front of the thorax and at the tips of the forewings look like pale wood
Look at this cheeky little scamp, pretending to be a snapped twig
A symphony of bright orange, white, purple, and yellow spring blooms greet the still waters of a Lake Kawaguchi, as Mount Fuji watches from afar, cloaked in snow beneath a boundless blue sky.
People often stop me in the street (never happened) and ask: “What do people like on Bluesky?”
“Mountains and flowers,” comes my reply.
Mt. Fuji with a sprinkle of flowers for #stunday.

In the last few weeks traveling around the country I recorded a lot of wildlife and livestock enjoying spring. I put them all together in one place. The radio audience loved it, you might find it a bit of a refuge too.

MORNING WALK feed! bsky.app/profile/did:...
Great photo.
A woodland with a carpet of bluebells
"It was bluebell time in Kent..." Not quite at their peak, but certainly 2 weeks earlier than when I was a child, when going for a walk to see the bluebells was my birthday treat (4 May). Something magical about the stark contrast between those still wintry trees and that gorgeous carpet of blue
Two waffles topped with bacon, poached eggs and hollandaise
Brunch at The Haywain pub in Little Bromley. Exceptionally good food cooked to order, each element tasting perfectly of itself. Nothing superfluous. This double poached eggs and bacon on waffles with hollandaise cost less than a tenner. They do full English for omnis, vegetarians and vegans too.
Good morning from the penultimate day of the ultimate #OrchidsOfRhodes tour where we are hoping to encounter yet more #orchid species and maybe a few more great views such as this one taken just after sunrise, looking towards the islands of Alimia and Chalki @mariposanature.bsky.social
Close-up portrait of a tiny iridescent bird perched on a slender branch against a soft green background. Its plumage shimmers with brilliant emerald green on its head and neck, transitioning to rich violet-blue on its body. The bird has a long, straight black bill and a keen dark eye, showcasing nature's remarkable color palette in miniature form.
Another lovely hummingbird, the Crowned Woodnymph. These have a large range through Central and South America.

Universal Credit isn't suitable for those with mental illnesses. All this inputting on the journal, it's driving me to the nearest psych unit. #migrationletter #universalcredit #esa #dwp
am I depressed or am I just unemployed
Those are my thoughts too.
Stella - Same here. Life is no picnic. I hope you find a job soon.
I am so tired of being unemployed and broke and struggling
🧵 It’s been a beautiful sunny day in Dublin, & the series of Spring flowers, bloom in gardens. Here some brilliant irises guard an Edwardian door.
It’s the vibrant splashes of colour & intricate patterns that inspire my art, as you can see in my ink drawings in this thread. [1]
Oh Dear, 2/10 - Edmund feels this is a tad harsh! I watched it recently with a female friend and thought it had many sweet spots. Terrific cast and it was pure escapism from my current drab existence of being on Universal Credit and being unemployed!
