Trumpeter (front) and Mute Swan. Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.
These two met one winter, several years ago, and have been BFFs ever since. The trumpeter gave up migrating for the friendship and they’re inseparable.

Curve-billed Thrasher has some questions 🪶☀️🌵
A pair of Little Grebes. Their plumage is mainly of various shades of brown, darker on the body and the top of the head, and paler on the neck and the lower half of the face, but the chin, and the rump, are white. They have short, pointed, yellow bills, short necks, and small, rounded bodies.
"Was that a case of grebe-ous bodily harm?" I asked a couple of fellow birders in a hide at Brandon Marsh back in February, after we saw a Coot attack one of these adorable Little Grebes. Also known as Dabchicks or (by me) as Little Floofs. 😀 #PlumeScrolling #Birds #NaturePhotography #UKWildlife 🌿
