Osborne Computer was a big, big deal in the early 1980s. Its founder even wrote a book called Hypergrowth. But by 1986, the hypergrowth was over and Osborne liquidated April 9, 1986. #retrocomputing #vintagecomputing dfarq.homeip.net/osborne-comp...

#PicoGUS can now emulate Sound Blaster 16 with the newly released firmware v4.0.0! Other changes include CD-ROM speed and reliability improvements, GUS mode improvements, and more. Check the full changelog and download the release at github.com/polpo/picogu...
www.vogons.org/download/fil... is the floppy image to write to a 1.44mb floppy for optrom booter
www.vogons.org/download/fil... is the bios rom with xtide to flash to an eeprom
I wrote the image onto a new eeprom - I used a TommyProm home made programmer that I made years ago
tomnisbet.github.io/TommyPROM/
If your floppy drive works, you can use
github.com/rvalles/optr... to load xtide (or any option rom) from floppy at boot too
I cant pretend to understand what was done - but the resulting bios image works really nicely
I dont have a charger either but wired a usb pd module to the battery terminals and, as mine doesnt have a modem (looks like yours does?) I used the space for the modem jack to mount the usb-c connector. Now usb-c powered and works well.
Fwiw, caps were all bad on power board on mine
I think that's the 286 version of the 386sx laptop I have. Someone on vogons hacked the bios for me to ad in xtide so any hdd size can be used rather than the predefined ones only

Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo just got a Commodore 64 port
A new fan-made port brings Capcom's 1994 arcade classic to the Commodore 64 and 128, and it runs shockingly well.

A throne with a golden toilet just went up on the National Mall, in front of the Washington Monument, protesting Trump’s grandiose White House renovations.
It includes a roll of toilet paper that reads “The Secret Handshake,” from the same group responsible for the statue of Trump and Epstein.

A true classic! Still holds up
Europe spent years debating whether the energy transition was affordable.
Spain quietly answered the question: gas now sets its electricity price in only 7% of hours.
Strategic autonomy doesn’t arrive via summit communiqués. It’s built in advance — in wind farms, solar parks, and grid investment

An update, regarding the monetisation issue.
No resolution yet.
NEW ANALYSIS: North Sea “drill baby drill” would cut bills by just £16–£82 per year, and only if tax revenues are redistributed.
A fully renewable UK could save households up to £441 says @smithschool.ox.ac.uk.

Letter in Times today:
Sir, Given the damage the UK has inflicted on itself since Brexit, surely the animal most appropriate for depiction on banknotes is a lemming.

Apologies all, GamesMaster won't be released this Friday while I deal with this. Absolutely not what I needed right now.
Yes, we have some serious problems in the UK, but at least we didn't make Jimmy Savile Prime Minister after he'd attempted a coup against the state and then let him appoint all his creepy mates to plum government jobs before attempting to destroy the international political order
@lgr-yt.bsky.social Iooks like you can't keep an iffy idea down! APS-C now... share.google/IeQNAA0awmM7...
UK grid now at about 2300 at night.
The sooner we move off fossil generation for good the better
