I have heard of fusion cuisine but I never saw a fusion pub before. Copenhagen, home of the Irish Japanese pub. Who knew?

I was approaching my home bus stop & was standing by the exit door. A man, 5-10 yrs younger than me, joined me. At the stop the pavement is very narrow. “Excuse me” he said, looking me up and down, “can I get off first, I’m faster than you.” Blooming cheek. I am an athletic 60+ woman in trainers 🙄

The Declaration of Arbroath. The image shows a replica of the declaration on display in a Perspex box. It is a large single sheet with closely spaced lines of writing at the end furthest from the viewer. At the near end it is cut into multiple vertical strips, each of which has a red or black wax seal on it. AT the bottom of the image is an interpretive panel giving background to the declaration.
On this day in history. The Declaration of Arbroath, probably the most important and influential document in Scottish history and considered by UNESCO to be of world significance, was dated 6 April 1320: making it 706 years old today. More pics and info: www.undiscoveredscot...

A crane lifts a telegraph pole over a rooftop in Edinburgh, looking like the cross of the crucifixion
Not the sign of the cross I was expecting to see this Easter. Strange goings on in my back garden!

This is my favorite climate change chart. Japanese monks, aristocrats, and emperors kept meticulous records of cherry blossom festivals for 1,200 years and accidentally built the world's longest climate dataset.

It was a friend of mine who was the product manager that revitalised the Lucozade brand by presenting it as a sports drink. 1980s I think.
